Letter: Become an informed voter

Published: July 10, 2014, 12:00am

The most valuable part of being an American citizen is our right to vote. I strongly recommend that all vote. But with this right comes a very big responsibility. That responsibility is to be an educated voter.

Those of you living in the 3rd Congressional District would do well to educate yourselves on the voting record of candidates. Here is a link to the voting record of current Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Camas: http://bit.ly/TOk3SN. This site is very easy to use and gives the voter needed information to make an informed vote, not just a vote based upon personal biases or from information provided by biased sources.

Remember John Kennedy’s words, “Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.” Be an informed voter to benefit your country. Vote.
