Battle Ground — A Battle Ground High School educator and president of a local charity organization is making a return trip to Africa this summer to help children impacted by HIV and AIDS. Crystal Steinmueller, who works in the special education department of Battle Ground High School, has volunteered in eight countries since 2007. “It allows me to learn more about local communities I am in, not as a tourist, but as someone who really cares about what’s going on,” Steinmueller said in a press release. She founded 2 Hands 7 Continents as a way to pair her love of world travel with a desire to do good, which she calls “voluntravel.” While in Zambia this summer, she’ll lend a hand to the Inspiring Minds Children’s Home organization.
