The La Center Police Department is inviting the public to its annual National Night Out event from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, at Holley Park in La Center.
The free event allows community members the opportunity to meet public safety officials from the police and fire agencies.
The event is held in conjunction with more than 16,000 National Night Out events in communities across the country. National Night Out aims to promote awareness about crime, increase involvement in crime-prevention activities, strengthen relationships in the community and encourage neighborhood participation.
