During the upcoming week of June 2 through 6, all cash and food donations directed to Share’s Hunger Response Program will be matched — and likely much more than matched — by CenturyLink as part of its “Feed the Children Backpack Buddies Food Drive.”

In 2013, this challenge raised $271,334 for Share — with $88,000 raised locally and the rest coming from CenturyLink.

Martin Flynn, marketing manager for CenturyLink, said this campaign is part of a nationwide charitable drive, and its total match for all beneficiaries is capped at $1 million. After all local gifts have been tallied, CenturyLink will calculate the amounts of the individual matches, he said.

All donations must be received no later than June 6 to be eligible for the match. Donations can be made via sharevancouver.org or mailed to: Share, Attn: Hunger Response Programs, 2306 N.E. Andresen Road, Vancouver, WA 98661.

Food donations can be delivered Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., to the Share Fromhold Service Center at the same address.
