Washougal — Gause Elementary School second-graders became famous figures, including Jane Goodall, Neil Armstrong and Jackie Robinson, during their Famous Person Museum class project last week.

Students in Julie Taie’s class had spent five weeks researching legends from many different walks of life, from entertainers to scientists.

The project culminated June 18 when the kids dressed up as the icons and stood like statues in front of informational posters they created, waiting for someone to walk up and press a red dot on their hand.

When the dot was pressed, the students came to life and told a story from the point of view of their research topic.

“They did such a great job of researching and sharing their information,” Taie said in a press release.
