A 21-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with two recent armed robberies in Vancouver.

The Vancouver Police Department reported Saturday that Celena Afemata was taken into custody in connection with the Friday night robbery of Mary Jane’s House of Glass, Mill Plain, 8312 E. Mill Plain Blvd., and Tuesday’s robbery of a Subway Restaurant on Southeast 192nd Avenue.

In the most recent robbery, a masked person had walked into the business, pointed a gun at the clerks and demanded money.

Police reviewing surveillance video came to believe that the same person was responsible for both robberies. Further investigation led to Afemata’s arrest and the recovery of significant evidence tying her to both incidents, the VPD bulletin said.

Afemata had prior affiliations with both businesses, the VPD said. The exact nature of the affiliation was not released.
