Families who live within the boundaries of Vancouver Public Schools can register their children for kindergarten for the 2014-15 school year beginning April 14. Children must be 5 years old on or before Aug. 31. Free, full-day kindergarten is offered at all elementary schools.

To find out which school your child will attend, see the district’s online boundary map or call the Office of Elementary Education, 360-313-1010 or the Communications Office, 360-313-1230.

Parents should bring proof of their child’s birth date and records of immunization to their neighborhood school to register their child. School offices are open for kindergarten registration from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Special language programs are Spanish/English dual language at Sarah J. Anderson Elementary School; Spanish immersion at Harney Elementary School; Mandarin immersion at Franklin Elementary School. Students who live in the district may apply for admission into these programs.
