Letter: Be wary of censorship in any form

I read with interest the May 4 All Politics is Local column, “The Nuge is a sign of diversity at the fair,” announcing Ted Nugent’s appearance at this year’s Clark County Fair. We should be concerned when individuals or groups seek to ban his appearance. We see too many instances today where those who disagree with others seek to ban or limit their rights to appear as an artist or speaker, such as former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice’s commencement appearance at Rutgers University.

If you don’t like Ted Nugent, don’t go to his concert. If you don’t agree with the former secretary of state, have the courage to listen to her point of view.

Those who shout the loudest for free speech and diversity seem to be those who would prevent others from exercising those same rights.
