B.G. middle school teacher accused of dealing drugs

A Tukes Valley Middle School teacher was released Monday from the Cowlitz County Jail after being arrested Friday for alleged drug crimes in Longview.

Kimber Lee Pack, 36, was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver and possession of heroin, Longview police Sgt. John Reeves said.

Pack was arrested after detectives from the agency’s street crimes unit served a search warrant at 1208 21st Ave., in Longview on Friday, Reeves said. Pack, who was visiting the residence, was searched and police found methamphetamine and heroin residue on a straw in her purse, Reeves said.

The investigation is ongoing, Reeves said. A judge released Pack from jail Monday. Her arraignment hearing regarding the drug charges is set for June 2.

Battle Ground Public Schools spokesman Sean Chavez confirmed that Pack is a sixth-grade teacher at the middle school. Rather than teach a specific subject at the school, Pack teaches all subjects to one class of students.

Chavez said Pack’s class has a substitute teacher until the police conclude their investigation.

“We can’t do anything until they finish their investigation,” Chavez said. “She’ll be out of the classroom until the police investigation and our internal investigation is complete.”

Also arrested during the incident was Selma Mae Alhashimi, 53, of Longview, who was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, delivery of methamphetamine and possession of heroin.
