A woman was seriously injured Monday when she was struck by a pickup while walking in west Vancouver.

The crash was reported at 4:50 p.m. at East Mill Plain Boulevard and Reserve Street near Hudson’s Bay High School. The woman, whose name was not released, was walking on the west side of Reserve Street, heading south, said Vancouver police Officer Ilia Botvinnik. Witnesses helped the woman, who was sent by ambulance to a hospital with injuries that did not appear life-threatening.

The driver of the pickup cooperated with police officers but seemed to be in shock, Botvinnik said.
