The body of a Camas man, who was reported missing earlier this week, was found near the Klickitat River Friday morning.

Edward Tornow, 50, apparently died suddenly while returning to his vehicle from the river while on a fishing trip, Klickitat County Coroner Katharine Mathews said.

His wife told the Clark County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday evening that he was overdue. Attempts to reach him or find his cell phone were unsuccessful. Local agencies were notified about his disappearance and his vehicle was entered into a national crime database.

Friday morning, Klickitat County Timber Deputy Harold Cole found Turnow’s car in a turnout along the river and Tornow nearby. No foul play is suspected in his death.

His body was turned over to the Klickitat County Coroner’s Office.
