Vancouver residents 17 to 24 years old who do not have a high school diploma or GED and are interested in a construction career are invited to attend one of two YouthBuild Vancouver information sessions.

They are from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Nov. 20 and Dec. 9 at Partners in Careers, 3210 N.E. 52nd St.

The program has space for 60 people who either live in Vancouver or are homeless. There is no cost to participate.

YouthBuild participants will get support with academic and construction skills training through a $1.1 million Department of Labor grant secured by the Southwest Washington Workforce Development Council and a group of partners. The program will culminate with the building of two energy-efficient homes for low-income families enrolled with Evergreen Habitat for Humanity. Program.

To register for the free information session, contact Dave Cole, 360-696-8417 or dave@swwpic.org.
