Clark County sheriff’s deputies have arrested one of two suspects involved in a stabbing at a Hazel Dell bar late Friday.

Apolonio “Polo” Luna-Ruelas, 22, of Vancouver was arrested Sunday on suspicion of first-degree assault and first-degree robbery. A second suspect remains at large.

“It was all me; I cut him,” Luna-Ruelas confessed, according to court documents.

Sheriff’s deputies were called to the parking lot of Three Monkeys Tavern, 7917 N.E. Highway 99, at about 11:45 p.m. Friday after a reported altercation. When they arrived, they found a 41-year-old man with stab wounds to his torso and extremities.

In a hospital interview, the victim told investigators that he was attacked when he confronted two Hispanic males because he suspected that they had stolen his cellphone and wallet, which he had set on top of the bar, according to court documents.

According to court documents, the men repeatedly punched the victim in the head. Luna-Ruelas allegedly then stabbed him multiple times. Both assailants were gone when sheriff’s deputies arrived.

The other suspect is also in his early 20s. He is about 5-feet, 7-inches tall and weighs about 175 pounds, according to court documents.

Luna-Ruelas appeared in Clark County Superior Court on Monday. Judge Scott Collier held him in lieu of $250,000 and appointed Vancouver attorney Jeff Riback to defend him. He is scheduled to be arraigned on the charges Dec. 5.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call sheriff’s Sgt. Rick Torres at 360-397-6079.
