Camas — Camas School District Deputy Superintendent Jeff Snell visited the White House last month with other school leaders from across the country for a discussion hosted by President Barack Obama on bringing schools further into the digital age. The “ConnectED to the Future” gathering, which follows the Obama administration’s plan to connect 99 percent of America’s schools with high-speed broadband Internet, was held Nov. 19. At the event, Snell and others were applauded for their efforts to become “future ready,” according to a post on www.whitehouse.gov. The more than 100 educators at the event, and hundreds of others who didn’t attend, signed a digital pledge to “lead a transition in their districts to innovative teaching using technology,” according to a press release.
