Two fishery advisory groups representing both Washington and Oregon are looking for candidates to fill open positions, according to fishery managers in both states.

The states are hoping to fill spots on the Columbia River Commercial Fishery Advisory Group and the Columbia River Recreational Fishery Advisory Group. The committees provide guidance to decision-makers on fishing issues on the Columbia and Snake rivers, developing recommendations on salmon, steelhead, sturgeon and smelt. The groups meet three to four times per year.

The two states’ fish and wildlife departments will accept nominations through Nov. 14. Nominations should be submitted through the Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife by email to teamvancouver@dfw.wa.gov or by mail to 2108 Grand Blvd., Vancouver, WA 98661.

Submissions should include a résumé and a statement describing the nominee’s fishing experience, interest in serving and ability to communicate with regional constituents, officials said.
