Vancouver Public Schools Superintendent Steven Webb joined more than 150 educators and representatives from businesses and nonprofit agencies in Washington, D.C., for the League of Innovative Schools meeting Oct. 5-7.

The league is a national coalition of 57 school districts committed to share lessons learned, participate in forums and work with research institutions, technology developers and other schools to deliver better results for students.

The group developed action plans to help schools overcome some of the most pressing challenges to innovation in public education, including teacher capacity and support, improving assessments and equitable access to technology for students.

At the White House, Webb met with officials from the U.S. Department of Education and the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy.
