Letter: Conduct of leaders disgraceful

The Columbian
Published: October 23, 2014, 5:00pm

In order to keep up appearances, members of the Vancouver City Council have embarrassed themselves and the entire city of Vancouver by their boycott of the heroic Lt. Gen. William G. Boykin at the Oct. 17 civic leaders prayer breakfast. We all know that in the event of an emergency every politically correct member of our spineless city council would be cowering in the shadows while Boykin was striding toward the enemy, ready to confront danger to protect every one of said councilors. They should man-up and be gracious to an invited guest. His service to this country demands at least that courtesy.

Civilized people can hold opposing views without needing to be jerks about it. I say again: Disgraceful.
