Second-half property taxes due Oct.31

Here’s a scary proposition: Second-half installments for property taxes are due Oct. 31.

Property owners should have already received their notices, said Treasurer Doug Lasher. If they haven’t, or the notice is lost, people can visit the website at www.clark.wa.gov/treasurer or contact the office by phone at 360-397-2252 for a duplicate statement.

The Treasurer’s Office is located on the second floor of the Public Service Center at 1300 Franklin St., Vancouver, (one block north of the Clark County Court House).

Taxpayers may pay their property taxes online using a credit or debit card or from their checking or savings account. While credit and debit card payments are assessed a 2.39 percent convenience fee, there is only a $1 per transaction fee for using the checking or savings process, lasher said.

To make a payment, go to www.clark.wa.gov/treasurer/property, or by phone, call 1-877-778-4606. Payment transactions must be completed by midnight, Oct. 31, to avoid interest charges.

Before mailing delinquent taxes or assessments, taxpayers should check on the treasurer’s website or call the Treasurer’s Office at 360-397-2252 to determine the correct amount to pay.

If mailing a tax payment, it should be mailed to the Clark County Treasurer, PO Box 9808, Vancouver, WA 98666-8808. Tax payments must be postmarked by Oct. 31. Taxpayers are encouraged to use the return envelope and payment coupon provided with their statement to mail their payments.
