Latina leader from Texas to discuss diversity

Texas State Rep. Mary González will speak about her identities as a member of the Latino and LGBTQ communities at Washington State University Vancouver’s fall Marquee Diversity event.

González will speak about “Identity Culture and Social Justice: How Tortillas and Rainbows Taught Me to Change the World” at 7 p.m. Nov. 6 in the Dengerink Administration Building, Room 110, 14204 N.E. Salmon Creek Ave.

She will discuss how her identities intersect, what inspires her to advocate for social justice and how members of the audience can affect positive change.

González has twice been featured in Latin Leaders magazine for her leadership in education and politics.
