SEATTLE — Seattle Public Schools says a principal has been placed on paid leave after a student was accused of bringing a Molotov cocktail to a Seattle high school.
The Seattle Times reports that action affects Oksana Britsova, principal at The Center School, a small public school on the grounds of Seattle Center near the Space Needle.
The district says a retired principal will fill in while the district reviews whether protocols were followed during Monday’s incident.
In a letter to families, the district says that staff “effectively implemented their emergency plan” when a 16-year-old brought a Molotov cocktail, a bottle filled with flammable liquid, to the school. No one was hurt. The building where the school is housed was evacuated.
Seattle police say the teen was arrested.
