Letter: Ross matches district’s sentiment

Voters in the 49th Legislative District must be excited to finally have a state representative candidate for Position 2 like Republican Lisa Ross, whose views match up with theirs. For six terms, they have had a career politician in Olympia whose views differ significantly from theirs. Typically, Rep. Jim Moeller’s D-Vancouver, positions only reflect his personal views and though presented engagingly, they lack common sense.

To get to know Ross, start by looking at her support for a two-thirds legislative majority amendment to raise taxes. Washington’s 49th District voters favored a 2010 initiative for this supermajority rule by 64 percent. Adversely, the incumbent Moeller joined in a subsequent lawsuit to have it overturned.
