Workers were busy Monday preparing the site for this year’s Clark County Fair, which kicks off its 10-day run Friday at the Clark County Event Center at the Fairgrounds.
Among the preparations were the placement of The Columbian Community Stage. The community stage, on the east end of the fairgrounds between the food court and the carnival, is home to musical and dance performances, magicians, a hypnotist show and contests ranging from pretty babies to hot dog eating.
The Clark County Fair is the biggest local community event of the year and one of the largest fairs in the state. Last year’s fair recorded attendance of 272,896, and sales of food and carnival tickets totaled a record $3 million.
