BATTLE GROUND — Battle Ground Public Schools will hold a public hearing on the district’s budget for the 2015-2016 school year at 7 p.m. Thursday at Yacolt Primary School, 406 W. Yacolt Road, Yacolt. People are invited to provide input on the budget.

The state Legislature approved additional funding for districts around the state this year for salary and benefit increases, class-size reduction, full-day kindergarten and maintenance and supplies. Battle Ground developed a proposed budget based on the state’s allocation and presented it for discussion during a school board work session Aug. 10.

Budget details will be provided at the budget hearing.

About 71 percent of the district’s revenues come from state funding. In addition, the district receives federal funds, levy dollars, and money from local, non-tax sources. Total revenues are estimated to be $151.9 million for 2015-16.
