SUMNER — The Washington State Patrol says a bomb squad is investigating a vehicle on State Route 167 near Sumner after a man approached other vehicles there and claimed to have an explosive device.

KIRO-TV reported that police activity has fully blocked southern-bound State Route 167 near State Route 512.

Police say they have taken a suspect into custody and that they believe he is heavily under the influence.

The road is backed up and traffic is being diverted.
