Letter: Murray’s concern is sincere

We found Gerald Rogers’ Aug. 21 letter “Murray failed during her watch” very disconcerting and lacking in facts. We are a military family. My husband is USMC retired. We follow legislation regarding veterans from several sources including Sen. Patty Murray’s, D-Wash., newsletter. Several years ago after receiving an email invitation from the senator’s office we attended an open meeting with several officials including the director of the Veterans Affairs, Sen. Murray and veterans’ organization representatives where they discussed improving services in our state and region.

Murray has been active in this area since she was elected, so to suggest she only shows for photo opportunities is incorrect. We have a senator who truly cares about medical care for veterans and this military family supports her.
