PORTLAND — A Portland man remains in jail on suspicion of raping a woman and posing as a law enforcement officer.

The Oregonian reports 25-year-old Tavon Dorsey-Hurtt was arrested Tuesday. He has pleaded not guilty to multiple charges related to last Thursday’s alleged incident, including first-degree rape and criminal impersonation of a police officer.

The man is accused of using a badge and identification card to appear as a police officer.

Authorities have kept information related to the case secret, saying releasing details could potentially hurt the investigation.

Portland police spokesman Sgt. Pete Simpson says only one alleged victim has been identified in the case.

Available court documents say Dorsey-Hurtt told court staff he didn’t know the victim.
