SEATTLE — Health officials are looking into a possible norovirus outbreak at a downtown Seattle tower.
The Seattle Times reports the cafeteria at the Russell Investments Center was closed Friday after hundreds of people experienced symptoms consistent with the highly contagious viral infection known as norovirus.
Public health spokesman James Apa says there have been no reports of seriously ill people or hospitalizations. The cafeteria, which is not open to the public, closed voluntarily. The building remains open but building management has been advised to do a thorough cleaning.
Health officials have not confirmed this is a norovirus outbreak and the investigation continues.
