About 500 comments on the proposed Vancouver oil-by-rail terminal have been received so far, the Energy Facility Site Evaluation Council learned at its meeting Tuesday afternoon.

The state council is overseeing the environmental review and permitting of the proposed Tesoro Corp. and Savage Cos. terminal at the Port of Vancouver.

A draft Environmental Impact Statement was released Nov. 24, kicking off a comment period that will last through Jan. 22.

Once sorted, comments will be posted on efsec.wa.gov after the comment period ends, council staff member Sonia Bumpus said.

The evaluation council will make a recommendation to the governor on whether to approve the project after the environmental review is finalized.
