SEATTLE — Four Washington residents are facing human trafficking charges after federal prosecutors say they brought a 14-year-old girl from Mexico and made her work long hours in factory kitchens.

Seattlepi.com reports that prosecutors say Angel Sandoval Mondragon brought the girl over the border in 2005, months after he was deported.

The girl told investigators she was promised a chance to go to school and learn English. Instead, she was put to work and told she owed Sandoval and his family $2,000. She made pies, doughnuts and chocolates at factories in Kent and Federal Way.

Sandoval, his sister Marbella Sandoval Mondragon and his ex-wife Monica Arcef-Flores have pleaded not guilty to the charges. The fourth defendant has not yet been arraigned because he is in jail on child molestation charges.
