Central Vancouver — Multiple programs and projects from Innovative Services NW have received grants recently.

The nonprofit started in 1963 to help those in Clark County with disabilities and disadvantages. One such project to benefit from a donation is the Nurture in Nature Project, which received $5,000 from Columbia Bank. The donation will help fund a master plan for Innovative’s new outdoor learning environment and therapeutic activity area, which will be built on property adjacent to Innovative’s facility.

The Youth Impact Program was the recipient of a $15,000 Kaiser Permanente Gives Volunteer Grant. That program works with current and former foster youth ages 15 to 24, and low income, out-of-school and homeless youth ages 16 to 21 on work readiness, skills development, career training opportunities and job placement and retention services.

The Support Services for All Project provides funds to current and former foster youth in the program to help address academic or employment barriers not covered by an existing resource or funding sources, and received a $4,000 Umpqua Bank Grant. Lastly, the Wheeler Foundation gave Innovative a $6,000 grant for its Critical Technology Update Project, which will upgrade Innovative’s server to store six times as much data and run more current, fast, and efficient operating system software.
