Ridgefield — The Ridgefield Schools Foundation recently received $15,000 in donations from two Vancouver-based businesses: LSW Architects and WRK Engineers.

In a ceremony at the Ridgefield School District office Jan. 27, Superintendent Nathan McCann, Paul Lewis, foundation president, and Tim Shell, foundation secretary, were presented with a $10,000 check from LSW Architects and a $5,000 check from WRK Engineers.

Both companies worked with the district on the new capital facilities projects located at all three of the district’s campuses. In a press release from the district, Casey Wyckoff, president of LSW Architects, and Brian Knight, president of WRK Engineers, both said after working with the district, they wanted to help it grow and support its students.

The Ridgefield Schools Foundation was formed in 2009 by parents as a way to help fund programs and services at Ridgefield schools. The nonprofit also gives out employee appreciation awards, mini-grants and scholarships to graduating seniors.
