The visiting Monarchs pulled away in the fourth quarter to remain unbeaten in the Class 2A Greater St. Helens League.

Mark Morris held Washougal without a field goal in the final period and outscored the Panthers 20-5 to finish the game.

“They clamped down defensively and we just couldn’t get anything to drop,” Washougal coach Malcom Estes said.

The Panthers’ Yorro Bah fouled out early in the fourth quarter.

Grant Gibb scored 27 points for Mark Morris (18-1, 11-0 GSHL), and Will Burghardt added 11. Burghardt was 8 for 8 from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter.

Noah Prangley scored 17 points for Washougal (14-5, 7-4). If the Panthers win at Ridgefield on Tuesday and Woodland beats Hockinson, the Panthers and Beavers will tie for second place in the league.
