The Health Systems Quality Assurance Division of the state Department of Health recently took disciplinary actions or has withdrawn charges against these Clark County health care providers.

In December, the Nursing Assistant Program charged registered nursing assistant Kathleen Jean Conner with unprofessional conduct. Charges say Conner admitted to committing several thefts from co-workers and a vulnerable adult who lived at the adult family home where she worked.

In December, the X-Ray Technician and Medical Assistant programs charged X-ray technician and medical assistant Shannon Theresa McVay with unprofessional conduct. McVay allegedly called in at least 22 controlled-substance prescriptions for her husband, using a physician’s name and Drug Enforcement Administration number, without being authorized to do so.

In December, the Nursing Commission charged registered nurse Shannon Leigh LaTendresse with unprofessional conduct. Charges say that when LaTendresse was admitted to a hospital, her medical history listed her as a current everyday intravenous drug user who used to shoot heroin into her veins twice a day.
