Pacific beats Portland 79-77 in OT

STOCKTON, Calif. — David Taylor hit a 3-pointer to force overtime and two key baskets in the extra period to lift Pacific over Portland 79-77 on Saturday night.

Taylor’s jumper with 2:12 left in overtime gave Pacific (11-17, 3-13 West Coast) a four-point lead and Jacob Lampkin stretched it to 74-68 with a pair of free throws 22 seconds later.

Kevin Bailey answered with the first of his three 3-pointers in the final 1:40, but Taylor pushed the lead to 76-71 with a spinning layup at 24 seconds. From there, Dulani Robinson made of 3 of 4 from the foul line to help the Tigers hold off Bailey and the Pilots (16-12, 7-9).

Bailey finished with a career-high 30 points on 12-of-21 shooting and 5 of 8 from 3-point range.

Taylor finished with 18 points, Robinson added 13 points and Eric Thompson had 11 points and nine rebounds for Pacific.
