Camas — The newest park in Camas is set to begin construction this year, but before it opens, it first has to be named. And for that, the city is possibly turning to the public. The park sits atop a knoll at Northwest 27th Avenue, off Northwest Fargo Street in the Drewfs Farm neighborhood. A committee was formed and asked to come up with a few possible names for the park, and they suggested three: Overlook Community Park, Cooper’s Run Community Park and Hawk’s View Community Park. Now, the city is placing suggestion boxes at City Hall’s front desk, the Lacamas Lake Lodge and the Camas Public Library, and asking residents to either pick one of the committee’s names, or suggest a new one. The suggestion boxes will be out through Saturday.
