Boys basketball: Columbia River 69, Centralia 54

The Chieftains hit 12 3-pointers and had five players score in double figures in a non-league win.

Joey Bean scored 15 points, Nathan Hawthorne had 14 and Chad Pedigo had 11 for Columbia River (9-3). Spencer Long and Andrew Vickers each added 10 points.

“This team spreads it around,” River coach David Long said. “They’re unselfish and they all can shoot. Our kids did a nice job of penetrating and kicking out.”

River scored 24 points in the second quarter to build a 39-30 halftime lead.
