Letter: Fundamentalists pose danger

The Columbian
Published: January 10, 2015, 4:00pm

Without freedom of speech and expression, a culture is doomed to only repeat its past. Think of any nation and identify the most fundamental groups that preach no tolerance for what others believe. The notion that what you believe has no validity and that I could execute you for your thoughts because your thoughts insulted me is barbarism. No nation is free of these extreme groups that preach “only my way.” My heart goes out to the families of the French journalists who were executed with no trial. For these terrorists the barrel of the gun was judge and jury.
