Letter: Salmon identity can’t fool forever

We started this messy fish gene pool. Our dictators of science say it’s pure. Or is it? Taking sides is the human mistake holding back this resource. Improper identification gets skewed into favoritism. Demand DNA purity before you claim fish as wild. Protect and understand that wild fish forever need impossible isolation and to be bottle fed because “we” destroyed their foundation and habitat in several ways.

Now management gets less money so all we get is facsimiles, like iron pyrite mixed in a box of rocks, then dictated as gold when it’s really Fool’s Gold. No management or court decisions should be laid down until we properly recognize what fish are — just that, a fish. A big wrongdoing is leadership by election, which is indirect.

Fish are transients. Fish are introductions. Fish are one hatchery prodigy placed in several rivers. Fish are fertilized eggs sent to a different river. Fish are placed by a man where they never existed. Fish are mentally disfigured. So where does the wild distinction fit? Mentally, fish are in trouble. This is more than just mental madness, it transcends to a physical mistake. Science is now spreading a man-made restrictive weapon guarding physical deception.

Salmon will solidly stay imperiled. Guess what, it’s us again.
