Letter: ‘No’ on Hockinson bond

The Columbian
Published: February 2, 2015, 4:00pm

I encourage a “no” vote on the nearly $40 million that is wanted for new structures in the Hockinson School District. As residents for 40 years, my family witnessed firsthand the reconstruction of the middle school into a new facility in 1989, with nothing similar to the old school except for the shape. This is not the Evergreen school district. This is unincorporated Hockinson with only property owners to support this.

Upgrades and repairs to the heating can be done through a modest maintenance levy. We do not need flashy tennis courts and soccer fields. These are not the values of this community. Hockinson schools were made great because of all the great teachers throughout the years.
