A man was robbed in the parking lot of a Vanmall neighborhood apartment complex early Wednesday.

The male victim was in the parking lot of Anderson Park Apartments, 4602 N.E. 72nd Ave., at about 1:15 a.m. when a vehicle drove up, and a person inside displayed a gun and demanded the man’s wallet and cellphone, Vancouver Police Department spokeswoman Kim Kapp said. The suspect hit the victim in the head with the gun, Kapp said. The victim was taken to an area hospital for evaluation.

Police arrived and searched for the suspect, but did not locate the person. A description of the suspect was not available, and the only description of the suspect’s vehicle was that it was white, Kapp said.
