Letter: Make changes to port commission

The Columbian
Published: January 30, 2015, 4:00pm

Holding illegal, closed-door meetings, ignoring public input, mismanaging taxpayer funds, disregarding the health and safety of the public. Is this the kind of port commission that we want?

The Port of Vancouver commissioners have essentially thumbed their noses at the Vancouver City Council, 12 neighborhood associations, labor, and the small business, health care and faith communities.

We now have the opportunity to elect a commissioner who will work for the public interest and not gamble away our future.

Alona Steinke
