Vancouver Mall — Residents of the Courtyard Village Vancouver retirement community and Hannah the Pet Society teamed to celebrate dogs at the community’s first Yappy Hour on June 26, an event will be monthly going forward. Hannah, a pet leasing company, brought pets available for placement to the event for residents to meet and gave treats to the animals. The event also will feature a pet of the month contest, in which the winner receives a gift basket of goodies valued at $100. “We recognize the importance of pet companionship in our residents lives and want to celebrate our four-legged community members,” said Lisa Coffey, executive director of Courtyard Village Vancouver in a release. The next Yappy Hour is July 24 at Courtyard Village Vancouver.
