SEATTLE — A Seattle homeowner thought a dog door sized for a Schnauzer would not be a problem, but police say a thief used the small opening to burglarize a house.
KOMO-TV reports (http://is.gd/o4jKeg ) that a police report shows a burglar stuck a homemade copper wire tool through the pet door and managed to unlock the deadbolt.
The prowler took a jewelry box, but left his tool. Police say they hope the evidence will help them catch their doggy-door burglar.
A Seattle detective says he hadn’t heard of the tactic being using in the city before.
