Letter: Transition into acceptance

The Columbian
Published: July 25, 2015, 5:00pm

With all the recent comments about transgender people, including Caitlyn Jenner, I found it refreshing to read a couple comments by some younger than teens:

“Who she wants to be is who she should be.”

“It’s important to be yourself because if you’re not yourself, then who are you?”

In summation: transgender people are human beings. The problem is not with them, but with a society that chooses not to accept them.
