Clark County — Three Vancouver residents were honored on May 26 as Children’s Cancer Association Heroes. The three were part of a group of 12 children and teens recognized for their exceptional courage, wisdom and grace in the face of serious medical challenges. Association representatives selected the group out of the approximately 5,400 children and teens who use the organization’s programs annually. The local honorees were Keaton Traffie, 6, who has acute myeloid leukemia and also had acute lymphoblastic leukemia as a baby, Nicholas Loring, 10, who has acute lymphoblastic leukemia, and Matt Pozsgai, 20, who has cystic fibrosis. The three were honored at an event at OMSI, although Keaton was sick and couldn’t attend the celebration.
