PORTLAND — Authorities recovered a body from the Willamette River, and it’s believed to be a woman who jumped from the Fremont Bridge.
Portland police Sgt. Pete Simpson says officers went to the bridge early Wednesday after a car was left there with its engine running and nobody inside.
When officers couldn’t find a body, they asked Portland Fire & Rescue and the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office to search in a boat.
Simpson says a deceased woman found in the river matched the description of the registered owner of the vehicle.
