SEATTLE — A 24-year-old Auburn mother and her boyfriend have been charged with second-degree murder in her 3-year-old daughter’s death.
Seattlepi.com reports that Tatiana Baker and 21-year-old DeMarco Jackson were charged by King County prosecutors Monday.
According to charging papers, the boyfriend reportedly told police that Baker beat the girl on several occasions before the day she died. Jackson also told police he hit the girl.
Police responded to a 911 call on June 9 stating the girl was hot from being outside all day and was vomiting. While officers and medics were treating the girl, the mother reportedly said she had to discipline her for spitting food.
An autopsy found the girl had significant bruises and suffered broken ribs and several fractures. She had bled to death due to internal injuries.
