PORTLAND — A Portland produce distributor is recalling sliced crimini mushrooms sold in Oregon and Washington over potential listeria contamination. United Salad Co., which distributes crimini mushrooms, said it initiated the recall after Champ recalled the Canadian-grown mushrooms in that country.

The mushrooms were distributed to stores in Oregon and Washington on June 13 and 14, but there’s no code date on the 227 gram (8 ounce) containers. They carry the universal product code 6 78286 88877 5. No illness has been reported in connection with the recall.

Stores have been asked to remove the mushrooms from shelves, and consumers should discard them.
