Gas prices took an upward hike in Vancouver this week, rising to $3.16 from last week’s average price of $3.09 for a gallon of regular unleaded, AAA Oregon/Idaho reported Tuesday.

Washington’s average price was $3.18, a seven-cent hike that kept the state at the fifth-highest average price for the fifth week in a row. Oregon’s average was $3.14, also a seven-cent increase, putting it in sixth place.

The national average of $2.79 was just below the year-to-date high of $2.80 reached June 15, AAA said.

Regular gasoline in California is averaging $3.48 per gallon.
