Letter: Shut down drilling in the Arctic

The Columbian
Published: June 30, 2015, 12:00am

I am writing you from Washington, D.C., and can speak on behalf of thousands of environmental activists around the world. We are doing everything we can to protect your waters in Washington state and we need your help, too.

Shell has plans not only to increase drilling rigs based in the Seattle area, but also to increase its efforts in the Arctic.

I am strongly opposed to the approval of its drilling and you should be, too. Join me in telling the Port of Seattle commission “no” to Shell’s plans of drilling or any portage of its rigs this summer.
